It is capable of enduring depths in excess of 4000 metres making it perfect for exploring the wreckage of the liner which sank southeast of Newfoundland a century ago this year .

The Titanic's wreckage was found on 1 September 1985 by a Franco-American expidition but only the world's smallest robot could sneak inside, so Robin was up for the task. After descent and release by its mother sub, Robin entered the wreck and recorded 13,000 metres of photos and video inside the Titanic where Robin was able to penetrate almost everywhere: cabins, passageways, galley and dining areas.
